For the MTV & Shoestring Music Competition

1. This competition will be governed by these terms and conditions and entrants agree that they have read and understood these terms and conditions and will be bound by them.

2. Entrants may enter the competition by answering one (1) multiple choice question online at url www.mtvsoundtrip.co.uk. Costs to enter the competition via the Internet may vary so please check with your network operator for current charges.

3. The closing date for entries is 2.00pm on 7th January 2008.

4. This competition is open to residents of the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain only, aged 18 and over, excluding employees and immediate relatives of employees of Viacom Brand Solutions Limited (the “Promoter”) and/or of MTV Networks Europe, and/or Shoestring International or of their respective parents, subsidiaries or affiliated companies or any other person professionally connected with this competition.

5. One (1) entry per person, which must include name, age, address, (including postcode), telephone number of entrant and answer to the question.

6. Winners will have answered the question correctly and will be the first entries randomly drawn on 10th January 2008 from all correct entries received. One first prize winners and nine runners up will be drawn.

1. Attend 5 MTV Award Shows across the globe:
- MTV Lat Am Awards
- MTV India Awards
- MTV Russia Awards
- MTV Australia Awards
- MTV Asia Awards
(MTV reserves the right to change these Awards show due to availability.)
If the Winner cannot travel on the dates of the Awards that MTV decide upon, then they will forfeit that Award trip.
2. Flights will be provided. From nearest major airport to the winner and to the nearest major airport to the Award Show
3. Accommodation will be provided for 3 nights. Hotel will provide breakfast. Hotel is based on 2 sharing a room.
Hotel will be 3*.
4. Transfers from the airport to hotel and hotel to airport are included.
5. €100 spending money per trip will be given
6. The winner & guest will be provided with a number of itinerary options while staying at the hotel
7. The winner will be provided with a video camera to capture their experience and to be hosted on the website mtvsoundtrip.
8. The winner will have a Shoestring guide to show them around the city and an MTV guide to show them around the Awards

The Winner and their guest must travel on the dates specified and no alternative dates shall be available.

The winner and the winner’s guest must hold a valid passport and any other necessary travel documentation (including, without limitation, visas where necessary) and are advised to obtain their own travel insurance.

Runners up:

9 runners up and one friend each (all to be over 18) all traveling as a group.

8. For the avoidance of doubt, the prizes do not consist of anything other than expressly set out in paragraph 7 above and no additional costs (including, without limitation, spending money unless otherwise stated) are included.

9. The winners of the prizes are responsible for all applicable taxes and expenses not specified in the prize description.

10. The first prize winner and runners up will be notified by telephone within seven days of the prize draw. and will receive written confirmation and full details of the prize by email by 1st February.

11. In the event that the Promoter cannot for any reason contact any first prize winner by 18 January 2007, the Promoter reserves the right to draw another winner.

12. The Promoter’s decision is final with respect to any aspect of the competition, including the determination of any winner of a prize. No correspondence will be entered into.

13. Entrants agree that the Promoter may use the entrant’s entry, name and/or likeness, voice, photographs and/or video footage of the entrant, biographical information provided by the entrants and/or any statement made by them concerning the competition and/or the prize(s) in connection with publicizing the competition, in any and all media in perpetuity throughout the world as the Promoter in its sole discretion sees fit.

14. By entering this competition, all entrants hereby grant the Promoter the exclusive right to film, tape, sound record and photograph all their activities in connection with the competition and (if applicable) any prizes. Everything filmed, taped or recorded by the Promoter shall be known as “Footage”.

15. All entrants hereby irrevocably and unconditionally assign to the Promoter with full title guarantee (and by way of present assignment of present and future rights) all intellectual property rights in any “Footage” throughout the world for the full unexpired period of such rights and all renewals, reversions and extensions of such period as may be provided under any applicable law throughout the world.

16. All entrants hereby irrevocably and unconditionally waive in favour of the Promoter, the Promoter’s affiliates and their licensees, assigns and successors in title, all moral rights in any “Footage” to which he or she is, or may at any time in the future be, entitled.

17. The Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative first prize winner and/or runner up in the event that the Promoter has reasonable grounds for believing that a selected winner has contravened any of these Terms and Conditions.

18. The winners may be required to provide a written acknowledgement of acceptance of all terms and conditions of the competition prior to receiving their prize.

19. The Promoter can accept no responsibility for entries lost, delayed, misdirected, damaged or undelivered. Incomplete, and/or illegible entries will be disqualified. The Promoter shall not be responsible for technical errors in telecommunications networks, Internet access or otherwise preventing entry to any competition.

20. The prizes are as stated and are non-transferable. No cash alternatives will be offered. If due to circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control the Promoter is unable to provide any stated prize(s), the Promoter reserves the right to award a substitute prize of equal value. All prizes are subject to the additional terms and conditions of the manufacturer or supplier.

21. No purchase necessary.

22. By entering the competition, entrants acknowledge that they may be required to be used in publicity without further consent or payment. Such publicity may include without limitation the entrant’s name and/or likeness, voice, photographs and/or video footage of the entrant, biographical information provided by the entrants and/or any statement made by them concerning the competition and/or the prize(s). Entrants agree that any or all such elements may be used by the Promoter in any and all media in perpetuity throughout the world as the Promoter in its sole discretion sees fit.

23. The Promoter shall not be liable to the winners and/or any guests for any loss or damage howsoever caused (whether in contract, tort or statutory duty or otherwise) arising out of or in connection with the competition and/or prize other than death or personal injury caused by negligence of the Promoter and/or the Promoter’s personnel and/or deceit or fraud by Promoter and/or Promoter’s personnel.

The Promoter shall not be liable for any delay in performing or partial or total failure to perform any of its obligations to the winners and/or any guests under these Terms and Conditions if such delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control including without limitation delays, changes, disruptions, cancellations, diversions or substitutions howsoever caused including without limitation as a result of war, terrorist action or threatened terrorist action, strikes, hostilities, civil commotions, accidents, fire, flood or natural catastrophes or arising without limitation out of or in connection with (i) the activities of third party event organisers; (ii) any form of transportation (including but not limited to flights, trains, coaches, buses, ferries, taxis or cars); and/or (iii) by third parties providing accommodation included in the prize. For the avoidance of doubt, the affected winners and/or any guests shall be solely liable for any additional costs incurred as a result.

24. A list of the first prize winner(s) and runner(s)-up can be obtained by sending a stamped, self- addressed envelope to Viacom Brand Solutions International, MTV & Shoestring Competition, PO BOX 1381, London, NW1 8XT, for one (1) month after the competition closes.

25. Any personal information, including without limitation, the entrant's name, age, address (including postcode), telephone number and/or email address will be used solely in connection with this competition and as set out in these Terms and Conditions and will not be disclosed to any third party, except for the purpose of fulfilling the prize(s) where applicable. Any personal information held by the Promoter in respect of any competition will be held on record for a short period for the purpose of ensuring fulfillment of the competition and then destroyed.

26. All entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, which may be amended or varied at any time by the Promoter on notice.

27. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising therefrom.
